Meet Ramona High’s cheerleaders

Share

Ramona High School varsity and junior varsity cheerleaders add enthusiasm and spirit to every sports game, assembly and competition in which they participate. They tumble, dance, sing and shout as they entertain and pull fans and spectators into an event.

At Ramona High School, varsity cheerleaders are at every home and away football game. Led by captains Kara Larson, Isabell Johnson and Shannon Reiling, they also perform their routines and cheers during KUSI-TV’s Alarm Clock Pep Rally and school assemblies. Their coach is Ramona High School Class of 2010 graduate Kyla Brunner, who attends San Diego State University.

Look for junior varsity cheerleaders during the third quarter of varsity football games when their varsity counterparts are on the visiting team’s side of the stadium. They also cheer at all JV football games and at school assemblies. Kylie Pettit, RHS junior, is team captain, and Ramona High Class of 2011 graduate and Texas Tech University graduate Taralyn Hempill is their coach. Taylor Stewart, also a 2011 Ramona High graduate, is assistant coach.

Melissa Brunner is cheer adviser for the varsity and JV cheer teams. She also is adviser for Ramona High’s Competitive Cheer team. Kyla Brunner and Hemphill share competitive cheer coaching duties, and Shannon Reiling and Madison Cirillo are team captains.
