School board calls special meeting

Ramona Unified School District trustees have scheduled a special meeting for Tuesday, Sept. 13, at 7 p.m. in the Wilson Administrative Center Board Room, 720 Ninth St.

The Sentinel learned of the special meeting Monday afternoon. The 151-page meeting agenda is on the district’s website, www.ramonausd.net.

The trustees will meet in closed session at 6 p.m. to discuss personnel, employee negotiations, litigation/pending litigation, and real property negotiations, according to the agenda. If necessary, they will return to closed session at the end of the public portion of the meeting, the agenda states.

Agenda items include presentation and acceptance of the district’s unaudited actuals as of June 30, 2016; approval of a $1.2 million energy conservation project the state will pay for with Proposition 39 money voters approved in 2012; approval of a side letter of agreement between the district and the California School Employees Association that represents the district’s support staff; approval of four new teachers and other personnel changes; and proposed district calendar for the 2017-18 school year.
