Vandalism shuts Warner Springs High School for the day

Share

An overnight vandalism spree caused thousands of dollars worth of damage at Warner Springs High School and forced a temporary closure of the campus and adjacent school facilities Wednesday.

A maintenance employee arriving for work at the state Route 79 secondary school about 5 this morning discovered the extensive destruction and defacement, which included graffiti, broken windows, hurled furniture and discharged fire extinguishers, according to sheriff’s officials.

The vandalism was significant enough to require at least one day’s closure of the entire Warner Unified School District complex, which comprises kindergarten through 12th-grade classrooms and offices on the same site, Sgt. Carlos Medina said.
