Ramona Chamber of Commerce with other back country chambers is establishing a Back Country Coalition to promote the unique character and experience of San Diego’s back country, announced Robert E. Krysak, Ramona chamber president.

In its first organizational meeting, the coalition pledged to work together to develop a back country identity, promote each other’s businesses and events, pursue regional promotion of the back country communities collectively, and work on mutual legislative pursuits. Additionally, the coalition will seek funds to promote the back country.

Ramona chamber participants include Krysak, first vice president Sally Westbrook and executive director Joe Stupar. Others pursuing this regional dream include Julian chamber president Ed Glass and board member Patricia Bell, Valley Center chamber executive director Mary Gordon, Borrego Springs chamber executive director Linda Haddock and Alpine chamber executive director Mary Rynearson.

The coalition’s next meeting will be in Julian on June 28.
