Chamber welcomes country fair entries

Ramona Country Fair is accepting entries of photographs and artwork for its Foto Friday Photography Contest featuring original art, and homemade salsa, jams, jellies, honey, jerky and pickles for its Home Sweet Home Contest. Both contests are free to enter.

Foto Friday entries will be accepted at the Ramona Chamber of Commerce office, 960 Main St., until 4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24. Categories are Animals/Nature for the age 10 and younger group, and People/Architecture for ages 11-14, 15-17 and adult.

The format for photos is 8 inches by 10 inches, unframed, one entry per person. Artwork must be no larger than 11 inches by 14 inches. The name and age of entrants must be on the back of the photo and/or artwork. The winners will be announced at 5:15 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 26, at the Country Fair Pavilion, 421 Aqua Lane.

For the Home Sweet Home contest, community members can enter a sample of their favorite recipes for judging. Entries must be labeled with the category and specific flavor. Entries will be accepted at 9 a.m. Aug. 27, with judging starting at 10 a.m. and ribbons for first, second and third place announced later that morning.
