Back on Main Street
Ramona Sentinel, the community’s weekly newspaper since 1886, is back on Main Street.
The Sentinel, at 425-A 10th St. for the past several years, moved to Day Promenade at 850 Main St., Suite 106, on Friday.
For decades, the newspaper office was at 611 Main St. but moved to the 10th Street location when the building’s owner put up the “For Sale” sign. Keith Hansen owned the paper then. In addition to the Sentinel, he operated his Wildlife Art magazine from the 10th Street office.
When Hansen sold the Sentinel, he moved Wildlife Art, reducing the need for so much office space, but it wasn’t until Tribune Publishing purchased the paper and consolidated some of the office functions that the need for a smaller space became evident.
