Friends of Ramona Library invites participation in Authors Day

Share

Plans are being finalized for the fourth annual Authors Day to be held in the award-winning Ramona Library on Saturday, Oct. 24, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Local published authors are again invited to display and sell their books, chat with the public, sign books and network with other writers.

The event has been held since 2012 and has featured from 13 to as many as 18 published authors. As in past events, the program includes a workshop for writers about publishing and getting their works to the public.

Applications are available in the library at 1275 Main St., on the Friends of Ramona Library website at friendsoframonalibrary.org and in the Friends bookstore off the library’s lobby.

This year’s featured speaker will be New York Times best-selling author Caitlin Rother who has written or co-written 10 books and also teaches at University of California San Diego.

Rother worked as an investigative reporter at daily newspapers for 19 years before deciding to write books full time. Her latest releases include Then No One Can Have Her, I’ll Take Care of You and Lost Girls.

The San Diego author works as a “book doctor,” writing/research coach and publishing consultant, and she teaches at UCSD Extension and San Diego Writers Ink. She will also moderate the publishing forum at 2 p.m.

All interested writers and readers are welcome. Attendance is free.

Further updates regarding the event will be on the Friends website.

Questions may be directed to Dr. Michael Barker, Friends president, 760-505-7409, or Chuck LeMenager at 760-789-4177.
