Radio personality presents award to Ramona teacher

Radio personality Tommy Sablan with KyXy 96.5, and representatives from American Assets Trust visited Ramona Community School Nov. 19 and surprised teacher Laura Franz by honoring her with an award.

KyXy and American Assets Trust partner in the Tribute to Teachers Program, recognizing six teachers per school year who were nominated for the program.

“We want to honor San Diego teachers and school coaches,” said Sablan.

Franz, a third/fourth-grade teacher for Ramona Community Montessori School, was nominated for Tribute to Teachers by parent Teresa Nolin and her fifth-grade daughter, Sophia. Nolin said Sophia was in Franz’s class last year and it was her best school year.

The plaque presented to Franz states: “In recognition of your dedication and excellence with your students.”

Ramona Unified School District Superintendent Dr. Robert Graeff was on hand for the presentation and thanked Sablan for supporting schools.
