Several Ramona wineries will be those featured when the San Diego County Vintners Association celebrates its 20th anniversary at its expanded Wine & Food Festival at Bernardo Winery on Sunday, May 17, from 1 to 4 p.m.

Wines from Ramona’s Woof’n Rose Winery, Salerno Winery, Hellanback Ranch Winery, Highland Hills Winery and Ramona Ranch Winery will be showcased with other wines produced in the region.

Bernardo Winery is at 13330 Paseo del Verano Norte in Rancho Bernardo.

In addition to wine and food, the event will include educational winemaking and food demonstrations, a silent auction and live music.

Tickets are $50 in advance and $65 at the door and include unlimited wine tasting and a selection of gourmet foods. Designated driver tickets that include food tasting and bottled water are $25 in advance and $30 at the door.

This is the only fundraising event benefiting the San Diego County wine industry to support educational seminars and marketing for all association member wineries and vineyards.

“California winemaking began right here in San Diego County,” said Linda McWilliams, owner of San Pasqual Winery and the vintner association’s president. “With more than 100 wineries in our county now, San Diego is fast becoming a premier destination for wine lovers. This is the perfect opportunity for local residents to discover and support their local wineries.”
