RHS golf team secures spot in next week’s CIF tournament

Ramona High’s boys golf team won their May 12 play-in match against San Dieguito for a spot in the CIF San Diego Section Tournament, May 19 and 21.

The Bulldogs beat San Dieguito 203-231 on their home course at San Vicente Golf Resort.

“With this win, we have secured one of the four remaining spots for Division 2 at the CIF Tournament,” said coach Michael Gainey. “Its a great feeling for the team to finish our last match at home with a win. Justin Graf continued his consistent play and claimed yet another medalist honor.”

Graf shot a par 36. Teammate Serop Matoian and Thomas Andrews each carded a 41, followed by Doug Crawford with 42 and Cameron Marshall with 43. Jacob Buckley shot a non-scoring 46.

The CIF tournament will be played at Admiral Baker Golf Course.
