‘Ranger Doug’ to host meeting about creating shooting club

Doug “Ranger Doug” Oliver of Shootists’ Emporium is spearheading a meeting to begin creation of a shooting club in Ramona.

The meeting will be in Ramona Town Hall’s West Wing, 729 Main St., on Tuesday, March 31, at 6 p.m.

“People who have common interests in the shooting sports will be able to get together and discuss various aspects of the firearms field such as shooting competitions, reloading, training classes, etc.,” said Oliver.

While there is no shooting range or area near Ramona at this time, it is hoped that the club will be able to develop a large organization with many talented people who can plan, and possibly, build a shooting range somewhere close to the community, said Oliver.

“It is known that there is a great need for a shooting range in the area,” he said. “The creation of a shooting club would be an excellent start to achieving that goal.”
