Lightning strikes power pole on Dye Road

Power lines are down across Dye Road, west of Ramona Street near Southern Oak Road, after lightning struck at least one San Diego Gas and Electric pole, according to officials.

One or two other poles were also affected, and leaning over the roadway.

California Highway Patrol reported Dye Road closed between Lagewaart and Southern Oak roads. Soft road closures are set up on Warnock Drive at San Vicente Road and on Dye Road just south of state Route 67, with only residents living along Dye Road allowed.
