Continued support keeps nonprofits progressing

The directors and volunteers of the Ramona Outdoor Community Center want to thank John Sousa and One Stop Equipment Rental for their very generous donation to our park. Your continuing support of our volunteer group is deeply appreciated.

It is people like you, John, and businesses like One Stop Equipment Rental that keep our nonprofit organizations progressing. Thanks for your help.

We will keep the R.O.C.C. Park beautiful and a wonderful place for everyone to enjoy.

Barbecue draws attention to upcoming election

On Saturday, June 27, a local citizen group of individuals from Ramona are putting on a rally and BBQ Fundraiser for the re-election of Supervisor Dianne Jacob at Mountain Valley Ranch at Magnolia and Hwy. 78 and all are welcome.

The old-fashioned rally and barbecue is very reasonable and your participation in the barbecue is your fundraiser donation. There is also a VIP area located in the Mountain Valley Barn where food, local wines, entertainment and quality time with Supervisor Jacob from noon to 3 p.m. are included for those who wish to donate more. There will be live bluegrass music on stage outside the VIP area as well.

All contributions are tax-deductible.

A ticket purchased includes a tri tip meal with all the fixings for the adults, and kids eat free from the kid menu: burgers, dogs and fixings.

What this fundraiser is about is getting a strong and proven Ramona advocate re-elected for her final term as supervisor for our area.

Local politics has never been my strength as I am sure many who are reading this will concur. Being recently elected to the Ramona Community Planning Group has been a wake-up call and has changed my views about local matters. Big businesses, i.e. SDG&E and Indian casinos have pulled out of Jacob’s camp because of her support of people like you and me for her halting proposed rate increases due to recent fires and checks on more casino development. As a result, these big businesses are putting their monies toward Assemblyman Joel Anderson. He may be a nice guy, but who will you trust for what is best for you? It’s really a no-brainer. Ramona needs this lady.

But the opposition has lots of campaign monies to give to Jacob’s opponent just to come up with the usual political campaign misrepresentations to convince you otherwise.

If you pay gas and electric bills and pay property taxes, this election will affect you. We don’t have mayors or city councils to speak for us. This election is important.

So come and get some barbecue and support Dianne Jacob on June 27.

Tickets are available from local merchants as well as at the door. Call 760-789-9010 for ticket locations and other information.

Mountain Valley Ranch is at 842 Hwy. 78. VIP reception at noon. General admission at 1 p.m.
