Medical examiner releases name of motorcyclist killed on Route 78
A motorcyclist killed in a weekend crash while riding with a group on state Route 78 in Ramona has been publicly identified as a 25-year-old Oceanside man.
David Ross Hafen II lost control of his motorcycle on a curve in the eastbound highway just east of Ramona Trails Drive late Sunday morning and crossed into oncoming traffic, according to the county Medical Examiner’s Office.
Hafen and the motorcycle went down and skidded into a pickup truck. He died at the scene from multiple blunt impact injuries, the medical examiner’s office said.
