The median price of a home in San Diego County rose by 4.8 percent in December, compared with the same month the year earlier, while the number of homes sold jumped by 6.2 percent, according to CoreLogic DataQuick.

In Ramona, the median price of a single-family home rose by 4.5 percent from December 2013 to December 2014, show statistics from the Greater San Diego Association of REALTORS®. In December 2014, 24 homes were sold in Ramona, compared with 29 that same month in 2013.

“While the number of homes sold in Ramona were down a little bit in December, now, after the first of the year, we’re experiencing an increase in sales in Ramona,” said Sally Westbrook, Ramona Real Estate Association president.

“One month doesn’t make a trend, but December’s uptick in (regional) home sales might indicate renewed interest in housing thanks to lower mortgage rates and job growth in recent months, said Andrew LePage, CoreLogic DataQuick analyst.
