Ramona real estate agent Chris Anderson began her term as president of the Greater San Diego Association of REALTORS® (SDAR) Board this month.

Anderson, a real estate agent since 1989, became interested in SDAR a decade later while serving on the Ramona Community Planning Group. Listening to San Diego County representatives discuss proposed land use and zoning changes, Anderson said she realized that SDAR had a decision maker at that table and it was clear to her that SDAR had strong influence and ties in the community.

After the meeting, she approached SDAR’s government affairs director and asked how she could get involved.

She earned the 2001 SDAR REALTOR® of the Year award and the 2005 SDAR Volunteer of the Year award. She has earned many designations as a real estate agent, including risk management specialist and graduate of the REALTOR® Institute.

She has served on the Ramona Community Planning Group and Ramona Chamber of Commerce. In 1999, she was selected Citizen of the Year in Ramona and was crowned “Queen of Ramona” by the Ramona Rotary Club.

Anderson lives in Ramona with her husband Jimmy and their two daughters. She was 24 when she started her career in real estate.

Growing up, she moved approximately 10 times in 19 years, as her dad was a commander in the Navy. She lived in Turkey and Italy and said moving so much gave her a broad perspective of the world and helped her to be more confident and engage with people from all walks of life.

When she is not working, spending time with family or volunteering, she enjoys four-wheeling and photography. She also loves history, and her favorite quote is from Abraham Lincoln: “Whatever you are, be a good one.”
