Main Street Parade needs volunteers
Organizers of Ramona’s Main Street Parade, scheduled for Saturday, May 16, are looking for volunteers to help with the community event.
“We need people to stand at intersections and make sure cars don’t go onto Main Street,” said Bonnie Kirkland, a member of the parade committee. “They will be able to watch the parade and would be needed from 9 a.m. to noon.”
A volunteer meeting for those willing to help will be held at the rodeo grounds on Aqua Lane at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 25. For more information, email Pat Donovan, parade chairman, at patshobbies@hotmail.com.
Entries in the parade will be accepted through Monday, May 4. This year’s parade theme is “Ramona — Land of the Free — Free To Be You and Me.” The annual parade will start at Main and 13th streets and continue along Main to Fifth Street.
Entries for cars, floats, horses, bands, clowns, street machines, drill teams, antique roadsters, heavy equipment, “two-legged creatures and anything else that you feel represents Ramona” are welcome.
