State’s first Dunkin’ Donuts, Baskin-Robbins drive-through to open here

Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins will open their first combination drive-through restaurant in the state of California in Ramona on Tuesday, April 7.

The restaurant at 1410 Main St. will open at 4:30 a.m., and visitors will receive a free medium hot or iced coffee promotion on opening day. The new location will provide Ramona residents and visitors with Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins offerings including freshly brewed coffee, baked goods and premium ice cream.

As part of the opening day festivities, the first 100 people to order will receive a Dunkin’ Donuts tote bag filled with items, and the first person in the walk-in and in the drive-through lines will receive free coffee for one year.

Guests will also be greeted with free samples, photo opportunities with brand mascots Cuppy and Coney, and giveaways throughout the day.

The Ramona franchise will be operated by SAWS LLC, owned by Southern California resident Mike Stout. The franchisee has plans to develop several other stand-alone Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in San Diego County.

“We’re proud to open the very first Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins combo drive-through location in the state,” said Stout. “We’ve witnessed a lot of buzz surrounding Dunkin’ Donuts’ expansion to the West Coast and are honored to bring the residents of Ramona a whole new experience for California with Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins together.”

Local dignitaries will participate in the ceremonial grand opening ribbon cutting and welcome Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins to the neighborhood.

The Ramona opening will also include two $1,500 check presentations to the Ramona Food and Clothes Closet and to Cornerstone Therapeutic Riding Center. The presentation to Ramona Food and Clothes Closet will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Dunkin’ Donuts, founded in 1950 and based in Canton, Mass., has about 11,300 restaurants in 36 countries.

Baskin-Robbins is the world’s largest chain of ice cream specialty shops. Founded in 1945 by two ice cream enthusiasts and also headquartered in Canton, Mass., it has about 7,500 retail shops in nearly 50 countries.
