A man suspected of shooting his father on Los Coyotes Indian Reservation over the weekend was in custody Tuesday, facing an attempted murder charge.

Phillip Lonewolf Campbell, 35, opened fire on his father about 4:30 p.m. Sunday, then ran off into into hilly terrain in the area of Hot Springs Mountain, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.

The victim was admitted to a hospital, but his condition and prognosis were not released by sheriff’s officials.
