As a gold sponsor of Ramona Senior Center’s 9th Annual Rib Fest, Stephanie Norvell recently donated $550 to help put on the fundraiser that benefits the senior center’s nutrition program.

“I value the seniors in our community and want to help out when I can,” said Norvell, Town & Country Home Loans and Real Estate broker.

And, she added, “I’m proud to support Pete (Bakarich),” senior center board member who heads the rib fest committee each year.

This year’s rib fest will be held in the Olive Peirce Middle School performing arts center, 1521 Hanson Lane, on Saturday, June 21, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Tickets for the all-you-can-eat affair are $15 for adults and $2 for children age 12 and younger, who will be served hot dogs and chips.

The meal features barbecue baby back ribs and chicken, potato salad, cole slaw, tea, lemonade and coffee. Also planned are a bake sale, music, face painting, root beer floats, soda and drawings for door prizes.

Because the event will take place on school property, no alcoholic beverages will be available.

Advance tickets are at the senior center at 434 Aqua Lane. Tickets also will be available at the door.

For more information, call 760-789-0440 or see www.ramonaseniorcenter.com.

The center celebrates its 40th anniversary this year.
