A free, two-hour interactive workshop on the basics of backyard composting and vermicomposting (composting with worms) will be offered by a nonprofit group from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 8, at Schwaesdall Winery.
To be presented by educators with Solana Center for Environmental Innovation, the program will explain how to improve the health of a garden and soil, and how to conserve water and support local sustainability. The workshop will show what is needed to get started with a composting bin that fits different needs and lifestyles. Opportunity drawings will also be available.
