Montecito High School started its awards banquet with an announcement from Superintendent Robert Graeff that the school has earned a six-year accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) Accrediting Commission for Schools.

“That’s the highest accreditation honor,” said Graeff to those attending the alternative school’s awards dinner and ceremony.

About 106 graduating seniors, families and friends sat at the 23 cloth-covered tables.

The evening started with dinner prepared by school board member Kim Lasley with assistance from family and student servers.
