Deadline to file candidacy is Aug. 8

Four incumbents — two on the Ramona Community Planning Group and two on the Ramona Unified School District Board — have filed for re-election on the Nov. 4 ballot.

According to the San Diego County Registrar of Voters website, no candidate has filed for either of the two Ramona Municipal Water District seats up for election.

Election 2014.FEATUREIn district elections at the state and federal level, the three Republicans holding office have filed for re-election: 38th District Sen. Joel Anderson will face Democrat Fotios “Frank” Tsimboukakis; 71st District Assemblyman Brian Jones will face Tony Teora, also a Republican; and 50th District Congressman Duncan Hunter will face Democrat James H. Kimber.

In Ramona, school trustees Rodger Dohm and Kim Lasley have filed candidate papers with the county registrar, as have planning group members Kristi Mansolf and Kevin F.J. Wallace. Robin Joy Maxson also is seeking a seat on the 15-member planning group.

Prospective candidates have until 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8, to file with the county registrar. Information about candidates who have filed in the gubernatorial general election is updated daily on the registrar’s website, www.sdvote.com.

The school board and planning group elections are communitywide. Water district elections are by geographical divisions with Division 2 and Division 4 terms ending this year. Neither Division 2 director Kit Kesinger nor Division 4 director Joe Zenovic were listed as candidates as of Tuesday morning.

Three school board and seven planning group terms expire this year. In addition to Lasley and Dohm, the school board seat held by Bob Stoody will expire.

On the planning group, the four-year terms of Carl Hickman, Chad Anderson, Matt Deskovick, Scotty Ensign and Dennis Sprong as well as Mansolf and Wallace expire.
