Ramona Realtor Chris Anderson has leadership roles in regional and state real estate professional organizations. She is president-elect of the Greater San Diego Association of Realtors (SDAR) and a director of the California Association of Realtors.

Anderson took her oath of office in SDAR at the 2014 Installation Dinner welcoming the group’s incoming officers and

directors at the USS Midway Museum.

Emcee for the black tie gala was U.S. Army veteran, actor and “Dancing with the Stars” winner J.R. Martinez, who also is an author and motivational speaker. While in the Army in Iraq, Martinez suffered severe injuries in a roadside bombing. After spending nearly three years in recovery, he auditioned for an open casting call for television’s “All My Children” and also guest starred on “Army Wives.”

SDAR and the Ambassadors Foundation welcomed Martinez as emcee as part of their mission to assist the San Diego military community achieve the dream of home ownership. The effort includes outreach and education on Veterans Affairs home loans, down payment assistant programs and more.

Of the estimated 167,000 members of the state real estate association, about 1,000 are chosen to serve on the board of directors. Anderson serves on the Strategic Planning and Finance Committee and the Land Use and Environmental Committee. At the national level, she is the region’s Land Use and Environmental representative.

“It’s a privilege to represent our San Diego region on the state level,” she said in an email. “All the years on the Ramona planning group have helped me gain a better perspective on navigating and understanding the laws and government process regarding land use. I am so grateful to Ramona for supporting me as their elected representative for 14 years.

“Hopefully what I learn from a state and national perspective can be shared to position Ramona to keep its wonderful quality of life and rural living for years to come while preserving individual private property rights. That’s something I want to maintain for generations to come.”

A long-standing member of the Ramona Design Review Board, Anderson also is Ramona Bluegrass & Old West Festival co-chair and co-founder, Ramona H.E.A.R.T. Mural Project director and co-founder, Ramona Tree Trust secretary and San Dieguito River Valley Conservancy director.
