Arraignment Tuesday for identity theft suspects
Two San Bernardino County residents arrested in Ramona for allegedly stealing mail — including credit cards and checks — from more than 100 people are set to be arraigned Tuesday, authorities said today.
Samuel Oliver Remson, 26, and Dominique Kesha Woods, 33, were taken into custody late Monday morning during a traffic stop at Seventh and Main streets, according to San Diego County sheriff’s Sgt. J. Boyce.
During a subsequent search of the vehicle, the deputy found a small amount of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and more than 100 pieces of stolen mail from San Bernardino County, including mail containing credit cards and checks, Boyce said.
“The stolen mail is commonly used to commit fraud and steal victims’ identities,” the sergeant said.
Remson and Woods were each arrested and booked into county jails on suspicion of drug possession, identity theft and mail theft.
