Letter to the editor: Looking for more ‘Propositions for Poultry’

In the Sentinel’s article on egg farmers (Dec. 18, 2014), a local poultry rancher remarked that a lot of voters were not educated on what Proposition 2 actually meant, stating, “When you’re voting on something, make sure you know what you’re voting for.”

Really?

Apparently a lot of people wanted more humane conditions for poultry farm chickens, whether it be in their cages or in their fields. And about those fields. A large barren plot of dirt is no comfort to a hawk-fearing chicken.

I’m looking forward to more Propositions for Poultry.
