Jackie Creighton retires after 20 years at Ramona Senior Center

Ramona Senior Center volunteers and directors plan something special on Friday, Oct. 11, for bookkeeper Jackie Creighton, who is retiring after 20 years.

“My heart is so heavy,” said Ray Cardona, the center’s executive director. “She’s been my right hand. She has such an incredible work ethic. She’s one smart, conscientious, caring and solid person.”

Replacing Creighton is Myra Stickney.

The center at 434 Aqua Lane is open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., except for legal holidays.

MenuFriday, Oct. 11: Turkey burgers, lettuce, tomato, onion, sweet potato fries, fruited Jello.Monday, Oct. 14: Crab cakes, scalloped potatoes, broccoli, fresh apple.Tuesday, Oct. 15: Hawaiian chicken, rice, stir fry vegetables, cookies.Wednesday, Oct. 16: Chili dogs, seasoned potatoes, coleslaw, cantaloupe.Thursday, Oct. 17: Macaroni and cheese with ham slice, carrots, Mandarin oranges.Friday, Oct. 18: Birthday lunch of oven fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, cake with an orange.Suggested lunch donation for seniors age 60 and older and for the homebound is $4. Transportation is $1. Lunch for a non-senior guest of a senior is $6.
