Ramona Garden Club is in full swing for the year, and the October presenter, Linda Bresler, will focus on drought-tolerant plants and succulents on Oct. 9.

Bresler, a landscape designer, holds three horticultural and landscape design certificates.

“I have personally grown most of the plants that I use in my landscape designs so that I know how they perform, and which are the best of use in low-water, low-maintenance situations,” the Poway resident said.

One of her designs was the grand prize winner of the 2012 Garden of the Year contest sponsored by San Diego Home/Garden Lifestyles magazine, and she has had numerous published articles.

The club’s monthly meetings begin at noon with a potluck lunch. Guests are welcome. Ramona Garden Club meets the second Wednesday of each month in the Ramona Woman’s Club building, 524 Main St. Call (760) 787-0087 or visit: RamonaGardenClub.com

“Also, be sure to mark your calendars for our Fall Plant Sale,” said Regina Elling, in charge of publicity for the club.

The sale will be in front of Albertsons, 1459 Main St., on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. A variety of plants as well as gently used gardening items, handmade gifts and succulents gardens — some themed for Halloween — will be available.
