Small quakes felt in Ramona, Julian
Saturday, Nov. 30—
A rash of small earthquakes, centered near Julian, rattled East County today.
All of the quakes had an estimated epicenter of about 10 miles east southeast of Julian.
The largest two were recorded with a magnitude of 3.2. They struck at 3:36 and 7:10 a.m. and were reported to be felt by people in Ramona, Julian, Pine Valley, Santee and Alpine.
Three other microquakes had magnitudes between 1.2 and 1.7.
The reports came from automated seismographs and computerized data analysis systems operated by the Southern California Earthquake Center. By early morning, no human had reviewed the reports, making them subject to later change.
