Drive-through backups cause concern
Traffic backups at Main and 13th streets, caused by those in line at the Starbucks drive-through, was discussed as a safety issue by the Ramona Community Planning Group and its Transportation and Trails (T&T) Subcommittee.
T&T Chair Carl Hickman told the planning group at its Nov. 7 meeting that vehicles typically line up from the Starbucks’ driveway onto Main Street during the morning rush hours.
Planner Scotty Ensign said that the traffic congestion could make it difficult for someone with a health issue to access the Ramona Ambulatory Care Center on 13th Street.
Hickman suggested drafting a letter to Starbucks, the county and Caltrans notifying them of the situation. Planners approved the suggestion 11-0-1. Planner Chad Anderson abstained, and Barbara Jensen, Dennis Sprong and Torry Brean were absent.
