Wind elevates wildfire risk

Wednesday, Nov. 6—The weather will pose an elevated risk of wildfire in San Diego County starting today, meteorologists said.

According to the National Weather Service, there will be very low relative humidity and gusty northeast winds in the county through Monday. The agency issued a hazardous weather outlook but stopped short of issuing its most serious fire-related advisory, a red flag warning.

Highs today were expected to be in the mid-70s to low 80s in valley and coastal areas, low 60s to low 70s in the mountains and mid-70s to high 70s in the deserts. Also today, wind gusts up to 30 miles per hour were expected in the valleys and gusts up to 40 mph were expected in the mountains.
