Cal Fire stops spread of 20-acre brush fire in Witch Creek area

Update, May 30, 4:10 p.m.—

The Incident Commander has released all firefighting aircraft. Firefighters will be on scene several more hours, mopping up any remaining hot spots, Cal Fire reports.

Original report—Crews are at the scene of a 20-acre brush fire off the 27200 block of State Route 78 in the Witch Creek area east of Ramona, according to Cal Fire.

The spread of the fire, reported at 2:12 p.m today, has stopped. The cause is under investigation and there are no reports of structural threats.
