Ramona High School sports physicals night rescheduled for Wednesday, May 15
By Bill Tamburrino
The Ramona High School athletic physical night, originally scheduled for May 29, has been changed to
Wednesday, May 15,
from 6 to 8 p.m. in the RHS gym, 1401 Hanson Lane.
All student/athletes, spirit squad members, and Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (NJROTC) cadets who are involved in competition must pass a physical in order to participate in interscholastic athletics. The physicals are good for the fall, winter, and spring seasons for the 2013-2014 school year.
Any eighth-graders who plan to participate in sports in their freshman year at Ramona High are encouraged to attend the physical night.
A health history form for each student must be filled out and
signed by his or her parent,
and is available online at www.ramonausd.net/rhs and at the high school’s main office. Students who will not be accompanied at the sports physical night by one of their parents must bring a signed form.
The cost of a physical is $25. Proceeds go to the RHS Athletic Training Room and Sports Medicine program, which supports all athletes on every team in the RHS athletic department.
Local doctors and health professionals are donating their time and, in some cases, money to help the student/athletes at Ramona High School.
For more information, visit www.ramonausd.net/rhs, or contact Joanne Parker, RHS athletic assistant at 760-787-4008 or JParker@ramonausd.net. Parker said she will email health history forms upon request.
