Failure to yield triggers two-vehicle accident at 10th and H in Ramona

Share

Wednesday, May 1—An 8-year-old girl complained of pain after a two-vehicle accident at 10th and H streets about 2:30 p.m. today.

According to California Highway Patrol Officer Dan Matthews, a 16-year-old male driving south on 10th Street pulled into the turn lane as he approached the H Street intersection. The teen saw a van pull up to the intersection on H Street and, while he was concentrating on that vehicle, the teen didn’t look to see an oncoming northbound vehicle on 10th Street as he started to turn onto H, and the two vehicles collided.

Neither the woman driving the northbound Acura nor the 10-year-old boy in the vehicle were injured, Matthews reported. The 8-year-old girl also was a passenger in the Acura. No other injuries were reported.

Because oil and radiator fluid leaked from the Nissan the teen was driving, firefighters and tow vehicle workers

shoveled dirt around and poured sand on the leak so it did not spread to a nearby ditch.
