Boys tennis team debuts with victory over San Pasqual

The varsity tennis team players got off to a good start as they beat San Pasqual 11-7 on the road in their 2013 debut. Every member of the roster earned a team point in the victory.

The doubles team of Adam Mazzola and Jack Mellecker set the tone for the Bulldogs as they posted scores of 6-2, 6-0 and 6-4.

Ricky Flores and Nick Peterson won two sets by going 6-2, 1-4, and 6-1. Chad Martin and Shay Alwan picked up a team point by going 2-6, 4-6 and 6-4.

Number 1 singles player, Daniel Streeter, won two sets with scores of 4-6, 6-2, and 6-0. Christian Failla also earned 2 team points for the Dawgs with scores of 1-6, 6-2, and 6-2. Garrett Wilcox won one set by going 0-6, 3-6, and 6-2.

After two years in the Palomar League, the Dawgs are now back in the Valley League and hope to contend for the league title.
