Saturday, June 29—Two hikers suffering from the heat, one at Iron Mountain off Highway 67 and Poway Road and the other at Cowles Mountain in Mission Trails Regional Park, were airlifted to the bottoms of those mountains and taken to hospitals for treatment, according to a San Diego Fire-Rescue dispatcher.

The dispatcher said the heat-related incidents occurred at 10:40 a.m. at Cowles Mountain and 10:50 a.m. at Iron Mountain.

“Both victims were airlifted to the bottom of the mountain and transported by ground ambulance to hospitals for treatment of their non-life threatening conditions,” the dispatcher said.

The Cowles Mountain hiker was not identified. The Iron Mountain hiker was female, the dispatcher said.
