DSC_0296.WEBCounty and Utility Tree Service workers tend to the eucalyptus trees on Montecito Road near Main Street. In front is the stump of one tree at the corner, next to Chase Bank, that was cut down on Tuesday because it had died, said Andrew Holt with the county’s Department of Public Works. Holt said the 80- to 100-foot tree was removed “for the safety of the public.” Utility Tree Service, which was contracted by the county, has been trimming the other eucalyptus trees lining Montecito Road.
