Ramona Pony Baseball all-star teams had a busy summer competing in San Diego County and beyond.

Summer activity started in the 2013 all-star double-elimination tournaments, with Ramona represented by teams in all age groups, and ended with two teams advancing to Super Regionals.

Ramona Pony Baseball hosted the Pony Sectionals on the Ramona Pony Baseball fields, attracting teams from the South and East sections of San Diego County. Ramona teams competed in all eight age groups ranging from 14 years and under to 7 years and under, with the top teams in each bracket earning a chance to complete in the next tournament, Pony Regionals.

Ramona proved it has some young baseball talent with seven teams advancing to Regionals, where the 12U team won the Sectional Championship against Chula Vista South.

The Pony Regional Tournament showcases the top all-star teams in the county. All of the Ramona teams battled hard throughout their tournaments, coaches report, with two teams, the 12U and 13U teams, advancing to the championship game and earning a spot to Super Regionals in Los Angeles.

Both teams won the first Super Regionals game, but lost their next two games against Southern and Central California’s best teams.
