Ramona INTRA Boys Under 15 (BU15) team participated in the 5th Annual Kick for Hope tournament July 13 and 14 and came home champions.

All proceeds from the tournament benefit children in Africa whose lives are ravaged by poverty and disease.

The boys’ first game ended in a 6-0 win over Hotspurs with goals scored by Eduardo Saucedo (2), Andrick Molinero (2), Israel Torres (1), and Cesar Ramos (1). Intra’s second game against the Rebels ended in a 0-1 loss. The boys’ third game on Sunday against Poway Vaqueros finished with a 4-2 victory with goals by Molinero (2) and Saucedo (2).

INTRA advanced to the finals to face the Rebels for the second time in the tournament. The U15 team was victorious with a 1-0 win scored by defender Nathan Rosenblum, numerous assists by the midfielders, stops by the defense, and some amazing saves by the goalies, noted the coaches.

“The boys played hard and gave it their all,” said Coach Gabriel Ocampo. “We made a few mistakes in our first game against the Rebels but we used that to correct ourselves and win the championship game.”

INTRA’s next tournament will be the Dave Shelton memorial in Escondido on August 10 and 11.
