Ian Pedlow graduates Air Force basics with honors

Ian Pedlow, son of Barbara and Lee Pedlow of Ramona, graduated from the U.S. Air Force Basic Military Training School at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, on Oct. 28 as Airman, Basic.

He distinguished himself by earning honor graduate status, awarded to only the top 8 percent of his 781-member training flight.

IMAG0135C.WEBPedlow, a Class of 2012 Ramona High School graduate, had the top written test scores in the flight and the best two-mile run time in his squadron. He also distinguished himself by receiving multiple leadership roles and assignments during the nine-week course of intensive training.

He now is attending 17 weeks of advanced training at an Army Corps of Engineers combined services school at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo., to become an Air Force engineer and enter the civil engineering career field during his enlistment with the Air Force.
