Ramona chamber announces 2013 award nominees

Ramona Chamber of Commerce today announced the nominees for the Annual Awards Ceremony that will be part of the Chamber Installation Dinner on Sunday, Jan. 12:

•Citizen of the Year — Carol Kinney, Darrel Kinney, Robert Krysak, Dawn Perfect, Dr. Jane Tanaka and Greg Chick, and Alexavia Zetterberg.

•Business of the Year — Jewelry World, Law Offices of Krysak and Associates, Packards Coffee Shop and Ramona Music.

•Nonprofit Organization of the Year — Cornerstone Therapeutic Riding Center, H.E.A.R.T. Mural Project, Ramona Garden Club and Rebel’s Elite Cheer.

Recipients of the awards will be announced as part of the installation dinner program.

Nominees are not required to be chamber members, and those nominating did not have to be members of the chamber, chamber secretary Sally Westbrook said in an email.

“Congratulations to all of the nominees, each of whom have contributed in their own way to making Ramona a better place in which to live and work,” the chamber said in an eBlast the day after Christmas.

The annual dinner at San Vicente Resort is a community event. Reservations can be made by calling the chamber office at 760-789.-1311. Tickets are $49 per person. The chamber requests reservations by Jan. 6.

The evening will start with a no-host social hour at 5 p.m. Dinner and awards will begin at 6 p.m.

heart of san diego.v1 copy copy.FEATUREThe chamber’s 2014 board will be welcomed at the event. Those attending are asked to include something red in their attire to reflect the evening’s theme: “Experience Ramona, The Heart of San Diego County.”

The buffet dinner will include prime rib, champagne chicken, lemon-glazed salmon, coffee and dessert stations.

Members of the chamber’s 2014 executive board include Charlotte Jensen, president; Robert Krysak, first vice president; Amber Ramirez, second vice president: Cindy Galloway, secretary; and Carol Fowler, treasurer. Board members are Bob Murray, Jason DeLeo, Patrick Osio, Sally Westbrook, Dan Vengler, Darrel Kinney, Lezley Knott, Janice Baldridge and Frankie Newberg.
