Agency seeks comments on transit needs

Share

San Diego Association of Governments wants community feedback on public transit and social service transportation needs.

Questionnaires in Ramona Library and Ramona Senior Center ask residents about their accessibility to transportation, obstacles or challenges in their daily travel, availability of transit and affordability.

The regional agency is working on its 2014-18 Coordinated Plan update that will provides a five-year blueprint for public transit and social service transportation concepts in its 2050 Regional Transportation Plan. The Coordinated Plan targets transportation for disadvantaged groups, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, and persons with limited means. Comments will be accepted until March 15.

SANDAG said comments will be considered in three sections of the plan development: transportation inventory — what services exist; transportation gaps and needs; and prioritized strategies to meet the needs.

After the draft Coordinated Plan is developed, it will be presented to the SANDAG Transportation Committee on April 18, 2014, according to the agency. Comments will then be accepted on the draft report for consideration in the final Coordinated Plan that is tentatively scheduled to be presented to the SANDAG Board of Directors on June 27, 2014.
