Milagro Farms Winery sponsors Olde Ramona Hotel Gallery artists’ reception

Milagro Farms Winery, winner of Best of San Diego County at the 2013 San Diego County Fair, will sponsor the reception at the Olde Ramona Hotel Gallery from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10.

The reception, open to the public, is an opportunity to talk with artist Dawn Rivas, whose works are featured in the gallery’s Discovery Room. Also featured this month and next are works by gallery artists with the theme “Feeling Feline.”

Rivas’ works include “city streets from places we would all like to visit, still life paintings with dramatic contrasts of light and color, people caught doing what they love in life,” reads a gallery statement. Artists such as Joaquin Sorolla, Georgia O’Keefe, Anders Zorn and John Asaro are among those who provide some of her inspiration for color and style.

The reception will feature free wine tasting for ages 21 and older, an assortment of fruit and cheeses and food from gallery members.

“This is your chance to shop locally,” said Aletha McKenzie with the gallery.
