Wednesdays are Lucky Lunch Day at senior center

Wednesdays are Lucky Lunch Day at Ramona Senior Activity Center this month. Two winners each Wednesday will be selected. Details are at the center.

Ramblers trips this month include the Laughlin Luau Aug. 14 through 16 and Del Mar Races on Aug. 28.

The center at 434 Aqua Lane is open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., except for legal holidays.

Thursday, Aug. 1: Machine embroidery class from 9 to 11 a.m., Bingo at 1 p.m.

Friday, Aug. 2: Exercise at 9 a.m., Pinochle at 9 a.m., Pokeno at 1 p.m., Seniors Empowering Seniors at 1 p.m.

Monday, Aug. 5: Exercise at 9 a.m., Lace/Crochet Class at 9 a.m. Ramblers meeting at 1 p.m.

Tuesday, Aug. 6: Walking group at 8 a.m., Yoga at 9 a.m., Quilting at 9 a.m., Computers at 10:30 a.m.

Wednesday, Aug. 7: Exercise at 9 a.m., Pinochle at 9 a.m., Bridge at 12:30 p.m. Santa Ysabel Trip at 1 p.m.

Thursday, Aug. 8: Bargain Corner from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Bingo at 1 p.m.

Friday, Aug. 9: Bargain Corner from 8 a.m. to noon, Exercise at 9 a.m., Pinochle at 9 a.m., Pokeno at 1 p.m., Seniors Empowering Seniors at 1 p.m.

The pool table may be used any time except during Bargain Corner, and a Wii game is available.

Menu for the Week

Thursday, Aug. 1: Broccoli and bacon quiche, breakfast sausage, breakfast potatoes, fruited yogurt.

Friday, Aug. 2: Barbecue chicken, baked beans, coleslaw, Ambrosia.

Monday, Aug. 3: Boneless chicken with mushroom, gravy, stuffing, California vegetables, pears.

Tuesday, Aug. 6: Beef Stroganoff, noodles, brussels sprouts, pineapple, salad.

Wednesday, Aug. 7: Pasta imitation crab, salad with peas, crackers, bread pudding.

Thursday, Aug. 8: Honey mustard chicken, roasted red potatoes, spinach, Mandarin oranges.

Friday, Aug. 9: Eggplant Parmesan, garlic bread, mixed vegetables, fruit cocktail.

Dinner-style meals are served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Meals also are delivered to the homebound.

Suggested lunch donation for seniors age 60 and older and for the homebound is $4. Transportation is $1. Lunch for a non-senior guest of a senior is $6. For reservations and more information, call 760-789-0440.
