Two men, spotted by a Sheriff’s deputy in a stolen vehicle near Main and 16th streets, were arrested Thursday evening after leading officers on a foot chase, said Sgt. Brent Strahm.

Around 7 p.m., the deputy saw a two-door Honda coupe that had been reported stolen and when he pulled behind it, the two suspects fled from the car, the Sheriff’s department reported.

The driver, Antonio Waller, 37, of El Cajon, ran into Stater Bros. where he was apprehended, said Strahm. He was arrested, suspected of possession of stolen property.

Around 8:20 p.m., the other suspect was spotted running to a residence in the 1600 block of 16th Street, the sergeant said. Deputies went to the residence and arrested Travis Blackmond, 24, of Ramona, suspected of possession of stolen property and a felony warrant, he said.

The Honda was reported stolen out of El Cajon on July 29, said Strahm.
