A vegetation fire that was sparked at 2:50 p.m. Thursday at a rabbit farm on Griffith Road, near the corner of Hanson Lane, was  contained in 10 minutes, said a fire official.

About half an acre of grass burned, said Cal Fire Battalion Chief Jeff Johnson.

“The ranch was having a guy mow with a tractor and he struck some rocks,” Johnson said. The rock hit the metal and then sparked the grass on fire, he explained.

No structures were damaged and no one was injured, he said. By 3:35 p.m., the firefighters had the scene “mopped up 100 percent,” noted Johnson.
