Firefighters quickly extinguish vegetation fire

Share

A vegetation fire that was sparked at 2:50 p.m. Thursday at a rabbit farm on Griffith Road, near the corner of Hanson Lane, was contained in 10 minutes, said a fire official.

About half an acre of grass burned, said Cal Fire Battalion Chief Jeff Johnson.

“The ranch was having a guy mow with a tractor and he struck some rocks,” Johnson said. The rock hit the metal and then sparked the grass on fire, he explained.
