Cal Fire crushes grass fire near airport

Update: 11:35 a.m., Sept. 28:

The spread of the Matthew Fire is stopped but some firefighters remain to be sure no hot spots ignite.

Firefighters are at the scene of a three-acre grass fire near Ramona Airport off Matthew Court on the west side of Montecito Road.

There are some structures in the area, but they are not immediately threatened, Cal Fire reports, noting that firefighters are making good progress on the fire.

Cause of the fire is unknown.
