Homicide detectives investigate death on Robertson Street

Share

A person was found dead under suspicious circumstances at a residence in the 1200 block of Robertson Street about 11:15 a.m. on Monday, sheriff’s Lt. Kelly Martinez said.

Deputies investigated, then called homicide detectives. Authorities did not disclose why the death of the person, described only as male, appeared suspicious. The decedent’s name was not immediately available.

On Sunday afternoon, a man was fatally shot during a confrontation at a home about a half-mile north of the residence where Monday morning’s fatality was reported.

The weekend incident reportedly began when a stranger showed up at a house in the 1300 block of Walnut Street in Ramona and confronted the homeowner, behaving erratically and aggressively. The resident armed himself with a gun, which discharged during an ensuing struggle, killing the intruder, homicide Lt. Glenn Giannantonio said.

There were no immediate arrests in connection with the shooting. The dead man’s name has been withheld pending notification of his family.
