A Fond Farewell

Share

By Jeff Mitchell

It seems like only yesterday that I was announced as the publisher of the Ramona Sentinel, but after four and half years the time has come for me to return home to the Monterey Bay area. Effective October 1st, I will become the publisher of the Good Times community weekly newspaper in Santa Cruz (part of the Mainstreet Media Group, which also owns the Ramona Sentinel).

We will leave behind some great memories, wonderful friends and a truly outstanding staff, but will keep all of you in our hearts.

Anna and I will remember the hospitality and the unique experiences that this community has shared with us. From the tasty pig roast prepared by the VFW that welcomed us to the wild turkeys who wandered around our neighborhood on Vista Vicente, to the magnificent sunsets and picturesque rolling hills, from the conversations at the City Barber Shop to the wine tasting at the local wineries.

And let’s not forget the lawn mower races at the Ramona Rodeo and the beautiful Ramona Library.

These experiences will always be with us and I can honestly say that we were proud to be Ramonans.

We wish the Ramona community well and will look forward to coming back for a visit.

All the best,

Anna & Jeff Mitchell
