Although Ramona High School’s boys swim meet at Westview resulted in a 91-77 victory for the Wolverines, Ramona Coach Frank Yturralde noted that the Bulldogs were competitive.

“Our closest match by far,” Yturralde said. “It was one of those meets where we went into the break all tied up.”

Ramona took first place in five of the 11 events at the April 24 meet. Position points for other swimmers gave Westview the eventual needed advantage.

“They would take 1-3-4 or 2-3-4,” Yturralde said. “They slowly outpointed us.”

Ramona opened and closed the meet with wins in relay races. The 200-yard medley relay quartet of Garrett Glaudini, Carlo Silva, Ted Dean and Zach Lane had a time of 1:47.99. Dean, Cory Davison, Lane, and Glaudini completed the 400-yard freestyle race in 3:32.26.

Glaudini had wins in all four of his races. His two individual races were the 500-yard freestyle, which took him 4:48.39, and the 200-yard individual medley, which required 2:00.47 for him to finish. Silva added a win in the 100-yard breaststroke, posting a time of 1:04.40.

Ramona’s final home meet of the year will take place Friday against Classical Academy.
